    Battery Charging & Recharging WARNING: if the battery is damaged in any way do not attempt to charge it and replace it immediately. Before first use charge the battery for 16 hours. Ensure that the start/stop lever can not accidentally be switched to the on position while charging on the product or when refitting the battery To charge that battery you can either remove it or leave it plugged into the product.

    Assembly The trimmer has removable plastic blades that can be replaced with new blades quickly and easily. WARNING: do not attempt to remove the blades whilst the unit is running. Wait unitl the blade has stopped before attempting to remove the blade. WARNING: Never fit metal blades. Only fit blades recommended by the manufacturer. WARNING: For safety ensure the battery is removed when working near or on the blades. Fit the large part of the hole in the blade over the metal lug located on the hub in the bottom of the trimmer head.

    Cutting Head Adjustment WARNING: Ensure that the start/stop lever can not accidentally be switched to the on position while adjusting the head. The Handy Trimmer can be very easily transformed from trimmer mode to edging mode. WARNING: do not attempt to rotate the cutting head whilst the blades are rotating. Grasp the head part of the trimmer and simply turn it round half a turn relative to the handle. WARNING: Keep your fingers clear of the power switch and ensure that power is not engaged during adjustment.

Attempting to force the trimmer to cut may damage the motor. To prevent overloading cut long or difficult foliage in stages with several light cuts. NOTE: the trimmer is fitted with a self-resetting protective cut-out. This will stop the trimmer if the motor becomes overloaded. If this occurs, wait a few seconds for the cut-out to reset and then use lighter cuts.
