The shield only has to be connected on one
side. Although the shield can be connected on
any side, we recommend using the LAN gate-
way side.
To avoid short-circuits, make sure that the side
of the shield or continuity wire which is not
connected is made safe or cut back so that it
finishes with the cable insulation.
The wire routed in parallel with the shield (continuity
wire, see figure below) must be connected to the GND
socket of the HomeMatic wired device.
