IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION.
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING.
WARNING J COOKTOP SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
I~l Never leave the surface units unattended at medium
or high heat settin.gs. Boilovers cause smoking and
greasy spillovers that may catch on fire.
B Never leave oil unattended while frying. If allowed
to he.at beyo_ nd i.ts smoking poin.t, oil may ig.n.ite,
res.ulting in fire that may .spread to surro.unding
cabinets. Use a deep ~at thermometer whenever
possible to monitor oil temperature.
[] To avoid oil spillover and fire use a minimum amount
of oil when shall.ow pan-frying and avoid cooking
frozen foods with excessive amounts ot ice.
~ .Use proper pan size--select cookware having flat
b.ottoms large enough to cover the surface lieating
element. Th_e use of undersized .c_ookware will expose
a po.rtion otthe surfac.e unit to direct c.ontact and may
resu.lt in ignition pf clothing. Proper relationship of
cookware to surface unit will also improve efficiency.
i~Only. certain types of glass, glass/ceramic,
earthenware or other cllazea containers are suitable
for cooktop service; otSers may break because of the
sudden change in temperature.
[] To minimize the possibility of burns, ignition of
flammable materials and spillage .th.e handle of.a.
container shou d be turned toward the center ot the
range without extending over nearby surface units.
[] When preparing flaming foods under a hood, turn the
fan on.

RADIANT COOKTOP SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Use care when touching the coo .ktop. The gla. ss
surface of the cooktop will retain heat after the
controls have been turned off.
[] Do not cook on a broken cool<top. If glass cool<top
should break, cleaning solutions and-spillovers may
p.enetrate the broken cookto.p and cre.ate a risk of
electric shock. Contact a qualified technician
immediately.
~.Avoid scratching.the glass cooktop. The cooktop can
be scratched w~th items such as I~nives, sharp
instruments, rings or other jewelry and rivets on
clothing.
m Do not place or store items that can melt or catch fire
on the .~lass cooktop, even. when it.is no.t being used. If
the cooktop is inadvertently turned on, they _may
ignite. Heat from the cgok~op or oven yent alter it is
turned off may cause them to ignite also.
Use CERAMA BRYTE ® ceramic Cool<top Cleaner and
®
CERAMA .BRYTE Cleaning Pad to clean the cooktop.
Wait until the cooktop cools and the indicatgr I.ight
goes.out before cleaning. A wet sp9nge or cloth
on a hot surface can cause steam burns. Some
cl.eaners _can produce noxious fumes if applied to
a hot surface, i',TO]]~: Sugar spills are an exception.
They should b.e scraped off while ~ill hot using an
ove.n mitt and a .scraper. See the Cleaning the glass
coal<top section tor detailed instructions.
Read and follow all instructions and warnings on
the cleaning cream label.

COIL COOKTOP SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
[] Do not immerse or soak the removable surface units.
Do .not put them in a dishwasher. Do not self-c!ean the
surface units in an oven. Doing so may cause them to
fail, presenting a burn or fire Hazard.
[] To avoid the possibility 9f a burn or electric shock
always.be certain that the controls for all surface units
are atthe OFF p.osition and all coils are cool before
attempting to hft or remove a coil surface unit.
[] Be sure the drip pans are not covered and are in
place. Their absence during cooking could damage
range parts and wiring.
m Do n.ot use aluminum f.qil to lin.e the drip pans. Foil can .
trap heat or melt, resulting in damage to the product and
a shock or fire hazard.
