Note: The DSMX DX5e is compatible with all current Spektrum DSM2
and DSMX aircraft receivers, but NOT compatible with the original DSM
AR6000 receiver. For current receiver compatibility information, go to
www.spektrumrc.com.

INSTALLING THE TRANSMITTER bATTERIES

The DX4e requires 4 AA alkaline, heavy-duty or rechargeable batteries.

bATTERY INSTALLATION

Remove the battery door and install 4 AA batteries. Make sure the polarity of each
corresponds with the diagram in the battery holder. Replace the battery door.

LOW bATTERY ALARM

When the battery voltage drops below 4.7 volts, an alarm sounds and the voltage
LEDs flash. The batteries must be replaced immediately. If this happens while
flying, land your aircraft as soon and as safely as possible.

TRAINER

The DX4e offers a trainer function that allows the transmitter to operate as a
master or slave. The trainer button is located on the left shoulder of the mode
2/4 transmitters and on the right shoulder of the mode 1/3 transmitters. When
using the trainer function, plug the trainer cord (SPM6805) into the trainer port
in both the master (instructor) and the slave (student) transmitters. The master
transmitter must have the power turned on. The slave transmitter must have the
power turned off. When you press and hold the trainer button on the master, it
gives control authority to the slave. When you release the trainer button, control
returns to the master.
Note: The DX4e trainer system is compatible with all JR (excluding the
JR S400) and Spektrum aircraft transmitters that feature trainer ports.
MASTER/SLAvE
The slave transmitter must always have the same reverse settings as the master.

bINDING

The receiver must be bound to the transmitter before operating. Binding
teaches the transmitter's specific code to the receiver so it only connects to
that transmitter. These instructions explain how to bind most Spektrum aircraft
receivers. Some receivers, such as the AR6400 series receivers, have different
binding methods. Please check the manual for your receiver for the proper
binding procedure.
