    Switching modes (indication) This watch has four modes, which are Time (TME) mode, Calendar (CAL) mode, Alarm (ALM) mode, and Local time (L-TM) mode. To switch the mode, pull the crown out to position 1 and then rotate the crown. Check the mode hand for the current mode.
  • Page 18 Switching modes (indication) • If the crown is pulled out to position 2 , the second hand stops and the watch will not be able to indicate the right time. • If the crown is pulled out to position 2 in any mode, time and calendar that have been set will be changed.

    Charging your watch This watch has a rechargeable cell which is charged by exposing the dial to light, such as direct sunlight or fluorescent lamps. After taking off the watch, put it in a location where the dial is exposed to bright light, such as by a window.
  • Page 20 Charging your watch • If the watch is obscured from light by long sleeves frequently, supplemental charging may be needed to ensure continual operation. • Do not charge the watch at a high temperature (about 60°C or higher).
  • Page 21 Charging your watch ◆ When the watch reaches a low charge state (insufficient charge warning function) When the power reserve becomes low, the second hand moves once every two seconds. This is the insufficient charge warning function. Be sure to fully charge your watch. • When the watch is sufficiently charged, the second hand will move normally.

    Charging your watch ◆ Power save feature When the watch is continuously not exposed to light for 30 minutes or more, for example being stored in a case, the second hand is automatically stopped to reduce the power consumption. The hour and minute hands operate continuously. • When the crown position is 1 or 2 , the power save feature will not activate.

    Adjusting the time 1. Pull the crown in to position 1 . The second hand moves to the 30-second position. • If the second hand does not stop at the 30-second position, refer to “Check and correct the current reference position” and correct the reference position.

To slow down and stop them, slightly rotate the crown. • 24-hour hand moves in conjunction with the hour hand. Make sure to correctly set the time in terms of AM / PM.

    Adjusting the calendar The calendar of this watch is operated until February 28th., 2100 once its calendar is correctly set. Year (number of years passed from the leap year), month, date and day are automatically increased. ◆ Month and year indications The function hand indicates the number of years passed from the leap year (0-year) such as 1 year or 2 years.

    Setting the Alarm time ◆ Using the alarm The alarm function uses a 24 hour clock. Once the alarm has been set, the alarm sounds for 15 seconds when the set time is reached once a day. The alarm time being set operates in conjunction with the time in each mode. Even when the time difference of the local time is changed, the time difference of the alarm time does not have to be adjusted.

If the alarm is not stopped at during the alarm sounds, the alarm automatically stops after 15 seconds.
