Movethe throttle/chokecontrol l everforwardto the FAST _ (full throttle)
position.
NOTE: Althoughthe ridingmower'sengineisdesigned to runat full throttle,
whenperformingapractice session the ridingmowermustbeoperatedat
lessthanfull throttle.Thisonlyappliesto practice.
Alwaysmaintain a firm grip on the control levers.DONOT release the
control levers to slowor stop the ridingmower;moveleversto neutral
position usingyourhands.

Driving the Riding mower Forward
Keep all movementof the drive control leversslow and smooth.Abrupt
movementof the control leverscanaffect the stability of the riding mower
and couldcausethe riding mower to flip over,whichmay result in serious
injuryordeathto the operator.
Slowlyandevenlymovebothdrivecontrol l eversforward.Theridingmower
will startto moveforward.SeeFigure 15.

Asthe control l eversarepushed fartherforwardthe speed of the riding
mowerwill increase.
Toslowthe ridingmowermovethe controlsleverrearwardto attainthe
desired speed, o r movethe levers to the neutralpositionto stopthe riding
mower.
Alwaysmaintain your graspon the drivecontrol levers.Donot releasethe
leversto slow the riding mower or to return to neutral.
Turningthe Riding mower While DrivingForward
Whenreversing the directionof travel,we recommendperforming gradual
'U' turns where possible.Sharperturns increasethe possibility of turf
defacement,andcouldaffect control of the ridingmower.ALWAYS s low
the ridingmower before making sharpturns.
Toturn the ridingmowerwhiledrivingforward,movethe controlleversas
necessary sothatoneleveris rearward of the other.Theridingmowerwill turn in
the directionofthe rearward controllever.
Toturn to the left, movethe left drivecontrolleverrearward of the right
