Care and Cleaning of the Stove (con't)
Glass on Backguard
Glass on backguard may be
removed to permit cleaning of
backside of glass. To remove, take
off all knobs, then grasp top edge
of glass at each end and pull glass
forward. To replace the glass, locate bottom of glass in
front groove of bottom trim.
Special considerations for models with Plastic
Retainers for holding the left and right edges of
the glass.
Some models have plastic inserts which retain the left
and right sides of the glass on the control panel. These
retainers will snap out of position and fall when the glass
is pulled forward. It is recommended that each side of the
glass be pulled independently so that while one hand
pulls the glass, the other hand catches the disengaged
plastic retainer.
To replace, follow the glass replacement as described in
the previous section. Once glass is centred, the plastic
LIFT-TOP Plus
TM
Cooktop
Some models have a LIFT-TOP Plus
can be supported in the up position for easier cleaning.
Be sure all the elements are turned off before raising
the LIFT-TOP Plus
TM
cooktop. There are two side
supports that lock into position when the LIFT-TOP Plus
cooktop is lifted. The cooktop elements do not need to be
removed before lifting.
After cleaning under the cooktop with hot, mild soapy
water and a clean cloth, lower the LIFT-TOP Plus
cooktop. Be careful not to pinch fingers.
Probe (some models)
The temperature probe may be cleaned with soap and
water or a soap-filled scouring pad. Cool the temperature
probe before cleaning. Scour stubborn spots with a soap-
filled scouring pad, rinse and dry.
Do not immerse the temperature probe in water.
Do not store the temperature probe in the oven.
