If using an on-board or system plug to connect the charger lead, steps 3 and 4 do not apply.
Instead, connect charger cable to a suitable on-board socket.

NOTE! Setting the selector switch incorrectly can result in the following:

Charger displays incorrect test results
-
Charger switches to "error"
-
Battery will not be fully charged
-
Vehicle power supply will be damaged (e.g. in back-up mode)
WARNING! Risk of explosion from short circuits and arcs. Before connecting/dis-
connecting the battery, disconnect the charger from the mains supply. During op-
eration, check that charging terminals and battery poles are properly connected.
Unplug the charger from the mains
Plug charger lead into charger socket
Connect (+) charging terminal to positive pole (red) on battery
Connect (-) charging terminal to negative pole (black) on the battery, or to vehicle body
(e.g. engine block) in the case of vehicle power supplies.
NOTE! When disconnecting, it is imperative to follow the above instructions in the
reverse order to avoid short circuits and arcs.

Charging characteristic setting:
Setting A: For charging all lead acid starter batteries
Setting B: Always charge using setting B for stationary batteries
in standby applications (e.g.: emergency power systems) or in
ambient temperatures exceeding 35 °C!

Setting B: Always charge using setting B for stationary batteries
in standby applications (e.g.: emergency power systems) or in
