The ASC symbol is dis-
played.
The ASC has detected insta-
bility at the rear wheel and has
reduced the torque. The warn-
ing light flashes longer than the
duration of the ASC intervention.
As a result, the driver is provided
with optical feedback on the reg-
ulation carried out even after the
critical driving situation.

Offroad ASC intervention
with Automatic Stability Con-
trol

The general warning light
rapidly flashes yellow.
The offroad ASC symbol is
displayed.
The offroad ASC has detected
instability at the rear wheel and
has reduced the torque. The
warning light flashes longer than
the ASC intervention lasts. As a
result, the driver is provided with
optical feedback on the regula-
tion carried out even after the
critical driving situation.
ASC self-diagnosis not
completed
with Automatic Stability Con-

trol
The ASC symbol flashes
slowly.
Possible cause:
The ASC function is not avail-
able, because the self-diagno-
sis has not been completed. To
check the wheel sensors, the
motorcycle must be driven at
least 3 mph (5 km/h) for several
meters.
Ride off slowly. The ASC
warning light must go out after
a few meters.
If the ASC warning light contin-
ues to flash:
Contact a specialized work-
shop, preferably an authorized
BMW Motorrad retailer.
ASC self-diagnosis
routine in off-road mode
is not yet completed
with Automatic Stability Con-
