Basic functions

Activating and deactivating

If the device is in standby mode (standby), the illuminated
outside ring of the control dial 4 will light up in a dim
blue .
• Briefly pressing the control dial 4 or the button 24 " "
will activate the device .
A welcome message will appear in the display panel 3
when the device is turned on .
• Pushing and holding the control dial 4 or briefly press-
ing the button 24 " " will switch the device back to
standby .
• If the device is inactive for a pre-selected period of
time, it will automatically switch to standby mode (see
"AUTO OFF" on page 12) .

Selecting a source

The device always turns on with the last selected source .
• Select the source directly with the function keys 14 on
the remote control .
• Or push the control dial 4 twice briefly and select
the source by turning the control dial 4 (also see the
"INPUT" menu on the next page) .
The selected source is shown in the display panel 3 .

Adjusting the volume

• Increase the volume: Turn the control dial 4 clockwise
or push the button 22 "VOL +" .
• Decrease the volume: Turn the control dial 4 counter-
clockwise or push the button 22 "VOL –" .
The selected volume will appear as a bar on the display
panel 3 and in numbers in the range "– – –" (low) to
"10 .0 dB" (loud) .

Mute

• Turn the speakers off with the "MUTE" button 1 or 13 " " .
A "MUTE" message will appear in the display panel 2 .
• Turn the sound back on: Push the "MUTE" button 1 or
13 " " again or change the volume .

Turning the display panel on/off

You can turn the illumination of the display panel 3 on
and off with the button 15 "DISPLAY" so it doesn't distract
you, e .g . while watching a movie .
