The
longitudinal feed,
when correctly adjusted,
will insure !hot
when
the width (bight
)

changed, the

moves
backward preventing
the needle from

clamping foot.
Ad
justment:
Through access
hole
in right side of upright arm,
loosen
the
longitudinal
rock shaft driving arm pinch
screw,

ig. 306, and move clamping foot
forward
or
backward
in
corrocr
relati
on to the needle. Then
re-
ti
ghten
the
pinch
screw.

TO ADJUST WIDTH OF TACK
Adiustmcnt:
Loosen
the long itud ina
l
driving
arm
s
tud nut,
Fig. 30B,
and
s lido
stud to the
right
(facing
rear
of
machine)
to
increase the
width of tack.
To
decrea
se
the width, slide
stud
to
the left.
Then t igh
ten the
stud
nut.
NOTE:
After this adjustment is modo,
it
moy
be
necessary to adjust the reed plate in relation to
the
needle
os
instructed
under
CENTERING
LONGITUDINAL FEED.
