CHAPTER 7: Creating and Managing Activities

This chapter will provide step-by-step illustrated instructions for the user to:
• Gather information about the activities to be set up using the devices added in chapters 5 and 6. For
each activity, the user will be prompted to describe what devices will be used and how they are to be
set. Additional prompting for this data-gathering task will include investigating how each device (e.g.
TV monitor) cycles through or selects inputs. A spreadsheet, in PDF and Excel versions, will be
provided for the user's convenience);
• Automatically add activities using the devices added in Chapter 5;
• Manually add activities by category;
• Customize the settings for each activity;
• Update the remote and test the device and activity settings.
A subsection with examples of the activities for a typical controlled system would be helpful. This could
be a continuation of one of the examples provided in Chapter 2.
