3-3-2(g) Air-Purge Procedure
When refrigerant piping is complete, perform an airpurge in the set up shown below.
CAUTION
Prior to performing a gas purge, prepare an additional
volume of refrigerant (R-22) separately.
Refrigerant for air purge is not charged in the outdoor
unit. Use separate refrigerant for air purge.
1 . INDOOR A U N I T
1 - 1 Connect the charging hose to the
packed valve having a charging
p o r t .
1 - 2 Loosen the liquid-side (1/4") flare nut.
1 - 3 Open gas container valve to lead
refrigerant (R-22) into the connection
pipeline and thus to discharge internal
a i r.
1 - 4 When the refrigerant gas blows out
following air, close the gas container
v a l v e .
1 - 5 Tighten the liquid-side (1/4") flare nut.
2 . INDOOR B UNIT
Perform air purge as instructed in steps (1-1)
t h rough (1-5) above.
3 . INDOOR C-unit
Perform an air purge as instructed in steps (1-1)
t h rough (1-5) above.
4 . Open the valve stem until it hits against the
s t o p p e r.
It is not necessary to try to open it further.
5 . S e c u rely tighten the valve stem cap with a
w rench or the like.
