Useful Information
Problem
The unit does not record new
messages.
I cannot operate the
answering system remotely.
While recording a greeting
message or listening to
messages, the unit rings and
the operation stops.
Liquid damage
Problem
Liquid or other form of
moisture has entered the
handset/base unit.
Caution:
L To avoid permanent damage, do not use a microwave oven to speed up the drying
process.

Cause/solution
L The answering system is turned off. Turn it on
(page 32).
L The message memory is full. Erase
unnecessary messages (page 33).
L The recording time is set to "Greeting only".
Change the setting (page 36).
L If you subscribe to a Voice Mail service,
messages are recorded by your service
provider/telephone company, not your
telephone. Change the unit's number of rings
setting or contact your service provider/
telephone company (page 36).
L You are entering the wrong remote access code.
If you forgot the remote access code, store a
new remote access code (page 34).
L Press each key firmly.
L The answering system is turned off. Turn it on
(page 35).
L You are using a rotary/pulse telephone. Try
again using a touch-tone phone.
L A call is being received. Answer the call and try
again later.
Cause/solution
L Disconnect the AC adaptor and telephone line
cord from the base unit. Remove the batteries
from the handset and leave to dry for at least 3
days. After the handset/base unit are completely
dry, reconnect the AC adaptor and telephone
line cord. Insert the batteries and charge fully
before use. If the unit does not work properly,
contact an authorized service centre.
