What graphics accelerators are used in these notebooks, and what do they offer?
The NEC Versa LX has an ATI 3D RAGE LT PRO graphics accelerator, and
the Versa SX includes a Trident Cyber9388. These graphics accelerators support
Zoomed Video, DVD playback (with optional DVD Drive Accelerator PC Card),
videoconferencing (ProShare videoconferencing kit from Intel required) and dual
image display on one LCD or two separate display devices (Windows 98 models).
In addition, the Versa LX includes hardware wavetable support and three-image
display capability for the LCD, CRT and TV (S-Video and NTSC/PAL).
What are the hard drive and memory capacities of the NEC Versa LX and Versa SX?
In their standard configurations the NEC Versa LX and Versa SX come with 2.1GB
SMART hard disk drives (HDD) and 32MB of memory. However, users can have
their notebooks built to their own specifications and, as their needs change, easily
expand the systems themselves via VersaBay III (see page 16) and the slide-in
memory card slots.
