Using an external microphone

You can use the ECM-680S/678/674 stereo microphone
(optional) by attaching it to the supplied microphone
holder.
Note
To attach the ECM-678/674, the conversion cable (EC-
0.5X3F5M) is required.
To attach the microphone holder
Align the microphone holder to the handle, then attach it
by tightening the screw securely.
To attach a microphone

Open the cover of the external microphone attachment
part by pulling the knob up.

Attach the microphone, then fix the microphone by
closing the cover of the external microphone
attachment part as it was.

Plug the microphone cable into the MIC IN connector,
then set the AUDIO IN switch (see page 34) for the
channel on which you want to record the audio from
this microphone to FRONT.

Microphone holder
Attaching a UHF portable tuner (for a
UHF wireless microphone system)
To use a Sony UHF wireless microphone system, power
the PMW-F55/F5 off and then fit one of the following
UHF portable tuners.
• DWR-S02D Digital Wireless Receiver
• WRR-855S UHF Synthesized Tuner Unit
• WRR-860A/861/862 UHF Synthesized Diversity Tuner
For details of these units, refer to the operation manuals
for them.
Note
The optional WRR tuner fitting (service part number: A-
8278-057-B) is required to fit the WRR-862.
For details, contact your vendor or a Sony service
representative.
To fit the DWR-S02D or WRR-855S

Remove the four fixing screws holding the cover of the
portable tuner/receiver housing slot.

Insert the DWR-S02D or WRR-855S into the housing
slot, and fasten the four fixing screws.
