INTRODUCTION

Congratulations on buying the Dica 220 digital camera for
your vision system.
Dica 220 is a high quality digital camera for image
acquisition. Dica 220 offers a high-resolution, high dynamic
range sensor providing the best basis for the development
of a very accurate vision system. Having the capability of
region of interest processing reduces processing time and
thus faster systems can be realised.
The industrial housing provides optimal possibilities for
incorporating the Dica 220 in almost every (industrial)
environment.
The Dica 220 can be operated in two distinct modes:
Rhapsody device for host programming.
Rhapsody device for embedded programming.
Clicks device.
Promise device.

ABOUT THIS MANUAL

This manual describes the electrical, software and
mechanical interfaces, and the processor and sensor
features of the Dica 220. The last chapter is an overview of
the technical specification of the camera.

SUPPLIED PARTS

The supplied equipment is delivered in a cardboard box
and comprises the following:
One Dica 220 camera with a sensor pollution
protection cap.
One hardware manual (this document).
If any of these items is not included notify your supplier
immediately.
Note : a lens or other optical device is not part of this
deliverable.

ABOUT THE INSTALLATION

The installation consists of making the right Ethernet
connections between the Dica 220 and your PC and
connecting of a 24 Volt power supply via the 9 pin Micro D
connector.
The Dica 220 is a digital camera that is able to capture and
transfer images via a Ethernet connection to a PC. This
can be done with an installed Rhapsody (v3.0 or newer),
Promise ( v3.6 or newer ) or Clicks (v1.9 or newer)
package. These are separate products that can be
purchased from Industrial Vision. Refer to chapter 3 for all
available software.
