Installing the rear view video camera
When mounting the camera, proceed as follows:
Hold the housing holder on the chosen location and mark at least two different points
for the drill holes (8, page 7).
If you would like to screw the camera on with self-tapping screws (9, page 7).
The holder may only be attached to steel panels with a minimum thickness of
1.5 mm using self-tapping screws.
Using a hammer (1 6, page 3) and centre punch (1 5, page 3), gently pre-punch
the previously marked points to prevent the drill head from slipping off.
Drill Ø 3 mm holes at the points you have just marked.
Deburr all drill holes and apply rust-protection.
Screw the housing holder on with the 4 x 25 mm self-tapping screws.
If you would like to attach the camera with threaded screws fitted through the
body shell (0, page 7)
Ensure that that nuts cannot be pulled through the body shell when they are
tightened.
Using a hammer and centre punch, gently pre-punch the previously marked points to
prevent the drill head from slipping off.
Drill Ø 4.5 mm holes at the points you have just marked.
Screw the housing holder on with the M4 x 25 mm threaded screws.
Creating a through-hole for the camera connection cable
If possible, use available openings – such as ventilation grilles – to feed the
connection cables through. If there are no existing openings, you must drill a
hole with a 13 mm diameter. Check beforehand that there is sufficient room for
the drill head to come out on the other side.
Drill a hole of Ø 13 mm near the camera (a, page 7).
Deburr all drill holes that have been made in the sheet metal and apply rust-
protection.
Place cable sleeves in all sharp edged ducts.
Mounting the camera in the housing
Push the camera into the aluminium housing (b, page 7).
Make sure that the camera is aligned correctly. A green sticker on the camera indi-
cates the correct position.
Push the camera housing under the housing holder and lock the knurled nuts against
each other.
Fasten the camera housing with the four screws (c, page 8) but do not tighten them
fully yet.
Tighten the screws when you have aligned the camera (see "Checking the function
and setting the camera" chapter on page 32).
