Stereo Tape Player
The optional stereo tape player provides
pre-recorded stereo music for your
enjoy-
ment. It utilizes a 4-channel, 8·track tape
pack and the front and rear radio
speak-
ers. AU tape player controls are
contained
within
the unit. A pilot light on the play-
er
indicates
when the player is in
opera-
tion. (The radio
does
not have to be ON.)
To
play
the tape unit the ignition
switch
must be
in
the
"ON" or "ACC"
position.
Insert the tape pack in the
slot
(label
side
up)
and engage fully. The two player
controls
should
then be adjusted
as
fol-
lows:
1. Program
Selector
- push the program
bar to
select
the desired program num-
ber. Individual songs
or arrangements
cannot
be
selected, as there may be
more than
one on each
nwnbered pro-
gram.
2. Volume and Tone Knobs-adjust
as
desired.
3.
Balance Knob-for
best stereo effect,
the balance between the front and
rear
speakers
may
be
controlled
by
turning the knob to the left
or
right
as required.
To
avoid
damage to your
tape
packs,
never leave
one engaged
in
the player
when not in use. Store tapes in
a cool,
dry and clean place out of the direct
sun·
light and with the open end of the pack
up.
Rear Seat
Speaker
With the
optional
rear
seat
speaker
tbe
ring
behind
the right hand knob
on
the
radio
control panel enables you to
fade
or
modulate
the
volume
of both
the front
and rear
seat speakers.
As the
control
is
turned to the right, the volume from the
front
speaker
is increased and the volume
from the rear speaker
is
decreased. Turn-
ing
the
control to the left
causes
the re-
verse.
With
the word "SPEAKER" in the
top
position,
the volume is
approximately
equal
at the front and rear
speakers.

Electric Defogging Rear Window

This
newall-weather
electric rear
window de-
fogger
(optional
equipment) heats the glass
and
removes interior fog automatically,
quietly, and without drafts. An instru-
ment-panel
lamp
lights
when
the power
is on. Current
flows through a grid of
silver and ceramic
frit
bonded
to the
glass.
NOTE, On vehicles equipped with air con-
ditioning, the blower
will
not operate at
full speed in the "HI" position wben the
rear defogger is in operation.
Superlift Shock Absorbers
Optional Superlift Air
Adjustable
Shock
Absorbers allow you
to
ride with the
trunk
or
load
space of your car fully loaded
but
with
no annoying
sag or bumps.
