For points 4-6 below please also observe the following:
N.B.: To allocate devices to the buttons VCR/DVD, AUDIO or SAT (e.g. TV, DVD, SAT ...) you
must first enter a four-digit code (this can be taken from the code book) for the type of device
that is going to be controlled. In other words, if you want to programme a satellite receiver
under the VCR/DVD button you must enter any SAT code from the code book (from page 98)
and follow the steps listed below.
Pressing the EXIT button takes you out of the setup mode.
4. Programming the modes TV, VCR/DVD, AUDIO and SAT
Setup with brand codes
1. Set the device that you would like to control (e.g. television set).
2. Press the SETUP button
and hold down until the LED display
SETUP button again.
3. Press the mode button
of the device you want to control and release again (e.g. TV).
4. Look in the code list for the 4-digit code ( ) of your device brand (e.g. Expert 0157) in the
relevant device group (e.g. TV), and key it in. The LED
been entered. If you enter an incorrect code the LED will flash for 3 seconds and then go out.
Repeat this process from step 2.
5. Point the remote control at your television set and press the POWER button
should switch off. Check the additional functions (e.g. for a video recorder: fast-forward or
rewind, etc.). If any of the functions do not respond this shows that the code you entered is
incorrect. If this happens repeat the process above with the next code that corresponds to
your particular brand.
6. Repeat this process from step 1 for any other devices that you want to control (TV, VCR/DVD,
AUDIO, SAT).

5. Manual code search

Setup with manual code search
If your device (TV, SAT, etc. ...) does not respond, try entering different codes for your particular
brand. If this does not work either, try using the code search method.
1. Switch on the device that you want to control.
2. Hold down the SETUP button
until the LED display
again.
3. Press the mode button
of the device you want to control and release again (e.g. TV).
4. Press PROG +
repeatedly until the display changes. If you go past the correct code press
PROG -
to go back to it.
N.B.: If your device does not have a PROG + button you can use the PLAY button (video
recorder or DVD)
or the POWER button
5. If the device that you want to control responds, press OK
N.B.: Searching starts after the last registered code. If this was 0030 the search starts at 0031
and goes up to the last possible code, and then goes back to 0000 and through to 0029.
If certain functions of your device cannot be controlled you must find another code for your
brand.

6. Automatic code search

Setup with automatic code search
If you are looking for an unknown code you can automatically search through the library (Auto-
Search). When your device responds you can pause the search and save the located code.
1. Switch on the device that you want to control.
2. Hold down the SETUP button
until the LED display stays lit. Release the SETUP button
again.
3. Press the mode button
which corresponds to the device you want to control. The LED
will flash once.
4. Press PROG+
once. After a few seconds the remote control will search through the code
library (quick search, 1 code per second). When the device responds you can press PROG+
to switch to a slow search (1 code every 3 seconds). You can go back by pressing PROG-
(you can go forwards by pressing PROG+

7. Identifying the codes found in the search
1. Hold down the SETUP button
until the LED display

for the device you want to identify (TV, VCR/DVD, AUDIO or SAT).
The LED will flash once.
3. Press SETUP
again. The LED will flash once.
4. To identify the first digit of the 4-digit device code press each numbered button from 0 – 9
until the LED flashes. The number you have pressed is the first digit of the code.
N.B.: If the LED does not flash this means that the number is ZERO.
5. Press each numbered button from 0 – 9 as described above to find the second, third and
fourth digits. Once you have found the fourth digit the LED will go out. Please do not forget
to write down the code!
8. Volume control
A Adjusting ALL volume controls under one special mode
You can programme the remote control so that the volume and mute buttons control one
specific device. However, volume control must be available on the relevant device.
E.g. television set volume control in TV, DVD, AUDIO and SAT mode.
1. Hold down the SETUP button
until the LED display

volume controlled by VOL

You can programme the remote control so that the volume control works for each selected
mode. E.g. you can control the volume of a television set in the TV mode/a satellite receiver in
the SAT mode, as long as the volume can be controlled on the device in question.
