Important RackAmp DSP v2 Rev Info
When first powered up or after Factory Reset, you MUST pick the Triad subwoofer model the amp will drive. Once confirmed
it can only be changed in the Installer Setup Menu. Triad InWall & InCeiling subwoofer model names are labeled on their front baffles.
Default POWER ON METHOD is AUTO. For IR ON & OFF commands to work, change Power ON
Method to IR. To force the amp ON or OFF to Standby regardless of Power On Method, press &
hold Standby power button 4 seconds. This also forces the Power On Method to MANUAL.
Quick Start Guide Setup instructions are for typical multichannel Home Theater applications with AV Receiver or
Preamp-processor. For more detailed setup info or other applications read or download "SubAmp DSP Installers Manual v1.5-1.6-2.0"
online at http://www.triadspeakers.com/products/product_manuals/triad_dsp_manuals.zip.
Triad RackAmp DSP v2 drives speaker loads of 4 ohms or greater. The only subs useable in pairs on one RackAmp 350 are
special order 8 ohm InCeiling Mini/8, Mini FlexSub, InWall or InCeiling Bronze, & InWall Bronze/4 SlimSubs, all labelled 8 ohms.
Menu changes occur in real time. What you see is what you hear. User Menu changes are saved instantly and automatically.
Installer Setup Menu changes are saved when the Back button is pressed. If the amp powers down while in the Installer Setup Menu,
changes will not be saved. When switched to 12V Trigger POWER ON METHOD, the amp will not power OFF to Standby until you
BACK out of the Installer Setup Menu.
Only unbalanced Left & Right Line Inputs can be LOW PASS FILTERed. LFE and Balanced Inputs cannot.
LFE & Balanced Thru(puts) pass thru their respective Inputs without DSP menu changes or adjustments.
Left & Right Line Outs can HIGH PASS FILTER & DELAY Line Inputs – to cross over and time align 2-channel Main speakers.
IR (Infrared) Input accepts IR distribution; IR Pass Thru is for daisy chaining IR to multiple amps.
For repeatability, calibrate to the REF Preset. Changes made to User Menu are saved immediately except for VOLUME
(see below) and NIGHT PRESET. When NIGHT PRESET is selected, amp reverts to the previously selected PRESET after
the amp is unpowered or switched to Standby.
User Menu VOLUME changes are temporary & volatile, reverting to calibrated 00dB when the amp is unplugged, switched to
STANDBY or when another preset is selected. Make permanent level changes either in your AV Receiver/Pre-pro or in
RackAmp's INPUT GAIN LEVEL in the Installer Setup Menu.
V2 RackAmps automatically adjust to AC Line voltages from 110V to 240V. The only change necessary is an IEC power
cord appropriate for local conditions. Fuse values do not change. There are no internal fuses. The only accessible fuse is
at the bottom of the IEC power cord socket.
Max Power Draw, Fuses, & Heat - 350 DSP: 3.15 Amps @ 500 W AC In, 1707 BTU/Hr; 600 DSP: 6.3 Amps @ 700W AC in, 2390 BTU/Hr.
LOWPASS FILTER default is LFE which bypasses the filter. This is recommended when the amp is used with bass management from
an AVR or Pre-pro.
Latency (Processing time delay from input to output) is just 1.5 mS.
If there is no output, the amp may have gone into protection. Check your speaker line for shorts, correct if necessary, and reset
RackAmp by disconnecting AC power for at least 30 seconds.
IP computer interface lets you set-up the amp from a different room and access advanced features (6 Band Parametric EQ
and 2 adjustable Presets). IP control cannot power the amp ON & OFF from Standby. For IP details, see our document RackAmp
IP Instructions v2.0 - IP Setup & Features.doc on the Subwoofers SUPPORT page of our website http://www.triadspeakers.com/
support.html#sub or contact Triad Support at 800-666-6316 or Service at 503-517-2668.
Installer Setup Menu BOUNDARY EQ compensates for response errors caused by sub location. Keep default MIDWALL if sub is located
within 2 ft of a wall/floor intersection, select CORNER if within 2 ft of a corner, and INROOM if more than 2 ft from a wall or corner.
