EOL - (End Of Line) - This is the code sequence marking the end of a
line. It consists of eleven zeros followed by a one
000000000001.
EOM - (End Of Message) - Used in G II Phase D. Replaced with EOP
in G III.
EOP - (End Of Procedure) - A signal issued by the transmitter indicat-
ing the end of a transmission.
FIF - (Facsimile Information Field) - The coded information that is
sent through the field (telephone line) when transmitting and
receiving.
FTT - (Failure To Train) - A signal issued by the receiver indicating
that excessive noise on the phone line, and requesting retrain-
ing.
MCF - (Message Confirmation) - A signal issued by the receiver indi-
cating all data has been received successfully.
MPS - (Multi Page Signal) - Issued by the transmitter after the a page
of information was sent indicating another page is to follow.
MTT - (Max. TX Time) - This is the maximum transmission time per
line.
NSF - (Non Standard Facilities) - This signal is issued by the receiver
which contains specific manufacturers information relating to
procedures and specifications not covered in the CCITT/ITU
standards.
NSS - (Non Standard Set Up) - An optional set up command issued by
the transmitter identifying itself and the transmission character-
istics determined by the information.
PIN - (Procedure Interrupt Negative) - Indicates that the previous (or
in process message) message has not been satisfactorily
received and that further transmissions are not possible without
operator intervention.
PIP - (Procedure Interrupt Positive) - Indicates the previous (or in pro-
cess) message has been received but that further transmission
are not possible with out operator intervention.
PIS - (Procedure Interrupt Signal) - Issued by either the transmitter of
the receiver indicating termination of operation.
RTN - (Retrain Negative) - Issued by the receiver indicating there is
noise on the phone line and to retrain.
RTP - (Retrain Positive) - Issued by the receiver indicating no noise on
the phone line. However, the machine will need to retrain
because the user has made a change on the operation panel.
TCF - (Training Check Field) - Test lasting 1.5 seconds, which con-
taining a series of ones (binary bit 1), issued by the transmitter
checking the quality of the phone line. If the test fails the trans-
mitter will try again at a slower speed.
TSI - (Transmitting Subscriber Identification) - An optional signal from
the transmitter containing its identification number (fax number).
