User Safety Instructions

1. NEVER hold the radio so that the antenna is very close to,
or touching exposed parts of the body, especially the face or
eyes, while transmitting. The radio will perform best if the
microphone is 2 – 4 inches (5 – 10 cm) away from the lips and
the radio is vertical.
2. NEVER operate the radio with a headset or other audio
accessories at high volume levels.
3. NEVER short the terminals of the battery pack.
4. DO NOT push the PTT button when not actually desiring to
transmit.
5. DO NOT modify the radio for any reason.
6. AVOID using or placing the radio in direct sunlight or in
areas with temperatures below -20°C - +60°C / -5°F - + 140°F.
7. Keep the radio from the heavy rain, and NEVER immerse it
in water. The radio construction is water resistant, not
waterproof.
8. The use of non-supplied battery packs/chargers may impair
radio performance and invalidate the warranty.
9. Changes or modifications to your radio not expressly
approved could void your authority to operate the radio
under laws and regulations.
10. Never use your radio outdoors during a thunderstorm.
11. Keep the radio out of reach of babies and your children.
