Threaded fasteners not
tightened to the speci-

fied torque can work loose or
their threads can suffer dam-
age.
Always have the tightening
torques checked by a spe-
cialized workshop, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.

Install right—hand spacer
sleeve 7.
Install left—hand spacer
sleeve 6.
The front wheel must be
installed right way round
to rotate in the correct direc-
tion.
Observe the direction of rota-
tion arrows on the tires or on
the rim.
Roll front wheel into forks.
Insert axle 5 as far as possi-
ble.
Tighten axle clamping
screw 4 with specified
torque.
Front axle clamping
7 lb/ft (10 Nm)
