Using The Hdmi Cec Function - Toshiba 32L5400 Series Owner's Manual

This feature uses CEC (Consumer Electronics
Controls) technology and allows the control of HDMI
CEC compatible devices from the TV remote control
via HDMI connection.
NOTE:
This feature may not work properly depending on the
connected HDMI CEC compatible device.
HDMI CEC one touch play
When a connected device is turn on CEC will
automatically detect the TV through the input
selection. If the TV is in standby it will be turn on
automatically. This feature is selected in the HDMI
CEC menu.
NOTE:
Even if the device is showing a menu the TV may
automatically show the video input source on-screen
display.
HDMI CEC system standby
This feature automatically turns the connected
device into standby when the TV goes into standby
and conversely for the TV to switch into standby
when connected device goes into standby.
HDMI CEC functions
When HDMI CEC is checked , the following
settings can be confi gured.
• Input Select
When you turn on a HDMI CEC device, the TV
input automatically switches to that device.
• Auto Power
If a HDMI CEC device is turned on or off , the TV
turns on or standby automatically.
• Auto Standby
If the TV is set to standby, the TV will send a
message to turn off the selected HDMI CEC
compatible device connected to the TV.
NOTE:
• The above functions are dependent on the
connected device and TV setting.

Using the HDMI CEC Function

HDMI CEC Control connection
Before controlling the device(s):
• After completing the below connections, set the
HDMI CEC menu as you desire.
• The connected devices must also be set. For
details, see the owner's manual for each device.
Connection example
NOTE:
• If several devices are connected, the HDMI CEC
Control feature may not operate properly.
• For proper operation, it is recommended that you
use HDMI cables with the HDMI Logo (
• This function is limited to models incorporating the
HDMI CEC Control function. Refer to the individual
owner's manuals for compatibility information.
• Connect devices to HDMI 1 to use the HDMI CEC
