Wiring Connections (Cont’d) Quick Connect Cable Connector The LCD uses a similar style of connector for both power and video, although they are not interchangeable. To install the cable connector into the receptacle on the unit, first make sure that the cable connector and the receptacle are lined up properly.
Signal Quality The strength of the video signal has a direct bearing on the quality of the images displayed. The cable supplied with the unit will allow for a very good image if proper wiring practices are followed. Install the cable properly and keep it away from sources of EMS such as electric mo- tors, or unshielded RF sources such as radar and microwaves.
Section GETTING STARTED GETTING STARTED Setting up the Computer For the optimum image quality to be displayed, the display properties of the video signal supplying the LCD must be adjusted to match. The LCD will automatically adjust to any signal resolution it is given, but unless the source matches the display resolution, it is likely that a less than satisfactory image will result.
Operator Controls Located on the front bezel of the LCD are the operator controls. The operator controls (from bottom to top) consist of On-Off, Red Power On LED, Brightness Controls and On-Screen Display (OSD) controls. Power Controls When power is first connected to the unit, the unit defaults to the Off state. The Power On-Off button is marked with the I/O symbol.
On Screen Display (OSD) The LCD is delivered with a default setup done at the factory for a generic PC and video display card. When connecting the LCD to a computer for the first time, it may be necessary or desirable to fine tune the basic setup parameters of the unit.
