Secton 3 - Configuraton
Use the System Settings menu to perform a simple device Restart or
Shutdown. This is also where the DNS-313 can be reset to factory default
settings, or save and load saved configuration files.
Factory Reset
Click the Restore To Factory Default Settings button under Defaults to
restore the network storage drive to default settings. The DNS-313 will be
reset to the factory default settings and restart. It will take about 2 minutes.
When it restarts, use the default User Name "admin" with no password to
log back in. The IP settings might change depending on how IP settings
were previously configured. Upon restarting the DNS-313 is a DHCP client,
therefore it might be necessary to use the Easy Search Utility to establish
contact. If you are unable to log in using the same IP address, use the Easy
Search Utility to find the device and connect to it. Restoring factory default
settings will not change any data on the hard disk.
Save or load configuration setting to local hard drive
Once the DNS-313 is configured it is a good idea to back up the configuration
settings file to your local hard disk. To back up the configuration settings file
of the DNS-313, click on the Save button under Configuration Settings
and choose a location on your computer to store the file. This file can later
be loaded from your computer to use the same configuration settings.
To Load Configuration Settings from a previously saved file on your
computer, click on the Browse button to locate the file, after locating it click
the Load button to load the settings.
Idle Time
Use the Idle Time configuration to set the number of minutes of inactivity to
allow before the user is logged off. The Config Inactivity Timer is used for
the web management administrator activity. If there is no activity using the
web manager for the set period, the administrator is logged off and must log
in again to continue using it. The Download Schedule Inactivity Timer is
used for users downloading files. Users are logged off after the set period
of no activity.
