Wipe both sides of grille with a
clean cloth lightly danipened with
mild liquid dishwashingdetergent,
or clean with a vacuum cleaner
brush. Be careful not to force the
movablelouvers out of position.
Other areas behind the grille may
be wiped or vacuumed, taking care
not to damage the coil fins.
Washcabinet with mild soap or
detergent and lukewarmwater.
Never use strong chemicals,
solven@or bleaching agents.

Coils
These coils on the weather side
of the unit should be checked
periodically and cleaned if clogged
withdirtor sootfromtheatmosphere.
If extremely soiled, they may need
tobe steamcleaned,a serviceavailable
throughyourGeneralElectricservice
outlet.

The air filter behind the front grille
should be checked and cleaned at
least every 30 days or as often as it
needs cleaning.
Clear! the filter with a vacuum
cleaner to removelight dust. Wash
the filter in lukewarm, soapy water
and rinse in clear water to remove
sticky dust.
When replacing the filter, be sure
the word FRONT is facing you as
you slide the filter back into place.
If your air conditioner is mounted
flush inside the room or if the
window sill extendsfarther into the
room than the chassis, it may be
necessary to removethe front grille
before the filter can be removed.
1. Grasp the bottom of the grille
and swing it toward you about 10
degrees.
2. Slide the grille upward to
disengage it from catches on the
upper part of the chassis.
The air filter can now be removed
from the grille—grasp the tab on
the filter and pull.
After cleaning, replace the air filter
and grille, hooking the top of the
grille onto the upper part of the
chassis and pushing the bottom of
the grille in until it snaps into
place.

m06L,
MX08A, mloA,
MX09D, MMlOD, and MAUD:
1. Grasp the bottom of the grille
and swing it toward you about 10
degrees.
2. Slide the grille downwardto
disengageit from the slits on the
upper part of the cabinet.
The air filter can now be removed
from the grille—graspthe tab on
the filter and pull.
After cleaning, replace the air filter
-
and grille, hooking the top of the
grille onto the top of the cabinet
and pushing the bottom of the grille
in until it snaps into place.
