Manual starting
Perform the PRE-OPERATION CHECK (see page
1.

Make sure that the AC circuit breaker is in the OFF position. The
generator may be hard to start if a load is connected.
3.
Turn the fuel valve lever to the ON position.
4.
Pull the choke knob to the CLOSED position.
(with a cold and warm engine)
5.
Make sure the Auto Throttle switch is in the OFF position, or more
time will be required for warm up.
6.
Turn the engine switch to the ON position.
7.
Pull the recoil starter grip slowly until the resistance is felt, and then
pull briskly.
Do not allow the starter grip to snap back against the engine. Return it
gently to prevent damage to the starter or housing.
8.
Push the choke knob to the OPEN position as the engine warms up.
9.
If you wish to use the Auto Throttle system, turn the Auto Throttle
switch to the ON position after the engine has warmed up for 2 or 3
minutes.
