Overlap Fit Finishing
Non-Combustible Finish Materials
0 - 1 inch thickness-Overlap Fit Method
All overlap fronts are designed to accept fi nish materials
0 inches to 1 inch thick. See Figure 10.3. If installing an
overlap front (Four Square, Illusion), the fi nishing mate-
rial will be placed up to the bottom edge of the fi nishing
template.
WARNING! Risk of Fire! DO NOT apply combustible
materials beyond the minimum clearances. Comply with
all minimum clearances to combustibles as specifi ed in
this manual. Overlapping materials could ignite.
NOTICE: This one inch maximum not only includes the
decorative fi nish materials (marble, tile, slate, etc) but also
the thin set, lath and adhesive used to attach the decorative
fi nish material.
1. The non-combustible fi nish material can be installed
up to the fi replace opening on the top and sides. Do
not cover rectangular access holes. See Figure 10.4
and 10.5.
WARNING! Risk of Fire! DO NOT cover rectangular holes
on bottom access panel when installing overlap fronts.
• If a Clean Face Trim (CFT) front has been installed and
is to be replaced by a front with an overlap fi t, the fi nishing
material must be removed to reveal the eight rectangular
holes on the bottom access panel.
• Overheating and fi re could occur.
2. Remove fi nishing template from bottom access panel.
3. Follow instructions provided with decorative front for
installation.

Finishing - Non-Combustible Hearth - Overlap Fit
• A non-combustible hearth may be installed at the same
level as the bottom of the appliance or lower. It may not
cover any part of the appliance. See Figure 10.6.
WARNING! Risk of Fire! DO NOT allow any part of ap-
pliance to be covered by hearth or fl oor.
