Process Operation Descriptions

Hopping and Feeding

Hopping and feeding motions are actuated by a single registration motor in the mechanism as
shown below:
Idle gear
Registration motor
Registration roller

Hopping roller

Registration gear
Motor gear
Hopping gear
The registration motor turning in direction "a" drives the hopping roller. The registration motor
turning in direction "b" drives the registration roller. The registration and hopping gears have one-
way bearing, so turning any of these gears in the reverse direction will not transmit the motion to
the corresponding roller.
