Wheel Removal

(Refer to the Safety Precautions on page 41.)
Front Wheel Removal
1. Raise the front wheel off the ground by placing a
support block under the engine.
2. Remove the speedometer cable (1) by removing the
screw (2).
3. Remove the front brake adjusting nut (3) and remove
the front brake cable (4) from the brake arm (5).
4. Remove the front brake cable from the cable guide
(6).
5. Remove the front axle nut (7).
6. Remove the front axle shaft (8), front wheel and
side collar.

Installation Notes
Reverse the removal procedure.
• Install the side collar into the right side wheel hub.
1. Position the front wheel between the fork legs and
insert the front axle shaft from the right side,
through the right fork leg and wheel hub.
Make sure that the lug (9) on the left fork leg is
located in the slot (10) of the brake panel (11).
2. Tighten the front axle nut to the specified torque.
Front axle nut torque:
62 N·m (6.3 kgf·m, 46 lbf·ft)
3. Adjust the front brake freeplay (page 19).
