Hardware options installation

Introduction

If more than one option is being installed, read the installation instructions for all the hardware options and
identify similar steps to streamline the installation process.
WARNING:
internal system components to cool before touching them.

Review "Electrostatic Discharge (on page 111)" before installing hardware options into the server.

Processor options

The server supports up to four processors. Observe the following processor installation guidelines:
Processor socket 1 must be populated at all times so that the server functions properly.
When installing PCIe boards, observe the PCIe board and processor population rules shown in the
following table.
