Connect
The
option establishes communication with a disconnected device. A
Connect
disconnected device may include a device that has timed out after prolonged inactivity or
a new device that has yet to be connected. If a device is already connected, the
option is disabled until the device is disconnected or the connection times out.
To establish a connection:
1.
From the
menu, select
File
bar. This displays the Communication Setup dialog box opens (see
page 22).
2.
Select the desired connection method.
To connect the software to the device through the rear panel Remote RS-232
connector, click the
drop-down list (see the left side of figure 8).
To connect the software to the device through the front panel USB connector, click
the
tab and select the Extron USB device from the
USB
drop-down list (see the right side of figure 8).
3.
Click the
button. The FOX Extenders Control Program window appears.
Connect
NOTE: Some controls and displays are available only when connected to specific
devices.
Disconnect
The
option stops communication with the current device, but leaves the FOX
Disconnect
Extenders Control Program open. Once disconnected, configuration can no longer be done
unless connection is re-established.
To disconnect from the device, select
icon below the menu bar. The status bar at the bottom of the main screen indicates that the
device is disconnected.
Exit
The
option closes the FOX Extenders Control Program.
Exit
To exit the program, select
Tools Menu
The
menu contains options for displaying device information or configuring the
Tools
device.
