1. Designated use
The KNX control RAMSES 712 controls the temperature in residential
and officespaces. It can be used as a continuous or two-point control for
heating and cooling systems (e. g. for radiators and cooling surfaces). It
has an integrated bus coupler.
The RAMSES 712 can be installed in a flush-mounted socket without
housing. The room thermostat is suitable for dry rooms only.
2. Safety
WARNING
Danger of death through electric shock or fire!
Installation should only be carried out by pro-
fessional electrician!
The regulations and instructions in the ZVEI/ ZVEH Handbook must
be observed to ensure that the bus lines are installed and the units
are commissioned in a professional manner.
Tampering with, or making modifications to, the device will invali-
date the warranty.
Only to be used in dry rooms with normal level of
cleanliness.
Only work on inputs when they are disconnected from
electricity supply.
3. Installation
Position the temperature control on an internal wall,
at about eye level (for temperature measurement).
Avoid draughts or heat emission.
Do not install in flush-mounted sockets connected to the mains
electricity supply.
Opening the housing
Using a screwdriver, care-
fully release the 4 side lugs
(see fig.).
Attach base of housing to wall.
Close housing cover.
Installation in a flush-mounted socket
Remove control from base of housing (release
fastener) and install in a flush-mounted socket.
Attach the integrated temperature sensor in such a way that the
room temperature can be reliably measured.
Ensure there is adequate ventilation.
If necessary, use an external sensor (see section 7)
4. Description and function
RAMSES 712 supports 4 operating modes:
• Comfort mode
• Standby mode
• Night mode
• Frost protection mode

1. Open housing cover with a screwdriver.

Plug bus line into bus terminals.
Ensure correct polarity.
