To be able to scan barcodes and process credit card payments, you need to Dell Venue 8 Pro attach a Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet to the e231. You can’t use the e231 as a tablet to the standalone device. - Page 13 Inserting the Tablet Align the module’s micro-USB plug to the port on the tablet and the guiding pins to the slots on the e231.
