Inlet Air Heater

Some engines may be equipped with an inlet air
heater. Heated inlet air helps the engine to start
easier in cold weather. During the engine starting
sequence the inlet air heater is activated for
several seconds. If the engine is equipped with an
air inlet heater timer, after the heat indicator goes
out, the engine can be started.

Engine Speed Controls

CAUTION
NEVER attempt to adjust the low or high
idle speed limit screw. This may impair
the safety and performance of the
machine and shorten its life. If
adjustment is ever required, contact
your authorized Yanmar industrial
engine dealer or distributor.
Several types of engine speed controls are
used in L-N engine applications. This
illustration shows a typical example. Refer to
the operating instructions for the driven
machine.
The speed control lever (Figure 6, (1)) controls
the engine speed. The lever could be linked to the
engine speed control device.
The low idle speed limit screw (Figure 6, (2)) sets
engine speed while it is idling.
The high idle speed limit screw (Figure 6, (3))
restricts the maximum engine speed when the
engine is operated without a load.
