Parking

Do not park the car on a flammable
base.
When using the parking brake, do
not press the release button.
Apply the parking brake firmly
when the vehicle is parked on an
upward or a downward slope, and
meanwhile depress the foot brake to
reduce the force applied.
After running at high engine speeds
or with high engine loads, operate
the diesel engine briefly at a low
load or run in neutral for about 1 to 2
minutes at idle speed before
switching off in order to protect the
turbo charger.
Turn off the engine and ignition
switch. Turn the steering wheel
clockwise until the steering wheel
is locked.
For vehicles equipped with manual
transmission:
1. When the car is parked on level
ground, place the shift lever in the
neutral position.
2. When the car is parked on a
downward slope, place the shift
lever in the reverse position.
3. When the car is parked on an
upward slope, put the shift lever
into first gear.
