Replacing the Printer

When replacing the printer due to such causes as malfunction, follow the steps below.
USB interface model
In a system in which the USB model printers are connected to multiple client computers, you do
not need to set the client computer when replacing if you have set the same USB serial number to
the printer.
You cannot connect more than one printer that has the same USB serial number to one client
computer. It is possible only to the different client computer. The USB serial number can be
changed with the Printer Setting.
Normally, when a new USB interface model printer is connected, a new printer driver
(printer queue) and a new USB port are created on the client computer. It is necessary to
change the port when printing with the new printer from the application on the client com-
puter.
❏ Preparation
Follow the steps below to copy the printer setting including the USB serial number to another
printer.
Start up the Printer Setting, and create the printer setting file including the USB serial
number information for the existing printer.
Confirm the DIP switch setting.
Set the new printer's DIP switch settings to the same as that of the existing printer.
Disconnect the existing printer, and connect the new one.
Make the setting to the new printer using the printer setting file of the existing printer.
❏ Replacing procedure
Disconnect the existing printer, and connect the new one on which setting has been made.
You can print using the same printer port as before, since the same USB serial number is set.
You do not need to change the client computer or the application.
