If installed, remove the optical drive blank, and then press the blue release tab at the back of the
blank and push the blank out of the system.
2.
Align the optical drive with the optical drive slot on the front of the chassis.
3.
Slide the optical drive into the slot until the latch snaps into place.
4.
Connect the power/data cable to the back of the drive.
5.
Route the power/data cable through the cable routing guides on the system chassis.

Cooling fans

Your system supports five cooling fans. A fan blank is pre-installed on the first cooling fan slot (FAN1).
NOTE: Hot-swap removal or installation of the fans is not supported.
NOTE: Each fan is listed in the system's management software, referenced by the respective fan
number. If there is a problem with a particular fan, you can easily identify and replace the proper fan
by noting the fan numbers on the cooling fan assembly.
Listed below is the Fan configuration table which lists out the various fan configurations based on the
CPU configuration in the server.

Removing a cooling fan
