Braised Pork and Apples
Makes 6 servings
INGREDIENTS
3 pounds pork shoulder, cut into 4-inch chunks
3 Granny Smith apples cut into wedges
2 tablespoons chicken bouillon powder
1/2 teaspoon dried sage
1 large yellow onion, sliced
2 large carrots, chopped
4 cloves of garlic, left whole
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
3 cups apple cider or juice
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper, to taste
METHOD

Add pork, apples, bouillon, sage, onions, garlic, sugar, juice, vinegar
and butter to pot.

Season with salt and pepper and close lid

Press the SLOW COOK button.

Cook 5 - 6 hours, or when meat is very tender.

Use potholders to tip broth, meat and vegetables into a colander
set over a large bowl.

Skim fat from surface using a ladle.

Return meat, vegetables and apple to broth

Check for seasoning and serve

Sausage Strata
Makes 6 servings
INGREDIENTS
Non-stick cooking spray
4 cups diced French bread, without crusts, about 12 slices
1 pounds kielbasa, cut into 1/2-inch slices, then quartered
1/2 cup red pepper, diced
1/2 cup diced onion
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
4 large eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 1/2 cups milk or half-and-half
METHOD

Spray Multi-Cooker Inner pot with nonstick spray.

Mix all ingredients in a large bowl and let soak for 10 minutes.

Add all the ingredients into Multi-Cooker pot.

Close the lid, press SLOW COOK, set TIMER for 4 hours.
