System
1
This manual provides information for planning, installing, programming, and testing this secu-
rity system. When necessary, this manual refers you to other documentation included with
compatible devices.
Planning sheets are included for you to record sensor locations and software programming set-
tings.
This section describes system capabilities to help you get familiar with the system. "Appendix
B" provides planning sheets with tables that let you record the hardware and programming
configuration of the system. Fill in all necessary information ahead of time to help prepare for
system installation.

Panel Inputs/Outputs

The following describes the panel hardware input/output capabilities.
Power: Input for AC power.
2 Siren Outputs/Zone Inputs: Terminals for connecting hardwire sirens or normally
closed (NC) loop switch circuits. These terminals cannot provide both functions simulta-
neously.
Phone Line Connection: Lets users access and control their system from a remote phone
and allows the panel to communicate with central monitoring station.
This section describes how to install the system control panel. Before starting the installation,
plan your system layout and programming using the worksheets provided in "Appendix B."
Installing the system consists of the following:
Determining Panel and Device Locations
Mounting the Panel
Connecting Sirens
Connecting Normally Closed Loop Switch Circuits
Connecting the Phone Line to the Panel
Connecting and Applying Power

System Components

The security system has three types of components: the control panel, devices that report to the
panel, and devices that respond to commands from the panel (see Figure 1).
