    Connecting the Home Gateway Connecting the Home Gateway Perform the following steps to connect the TES301. Make sure the power switch is in the Off position. Power down all devices that you will connect to the gateway. Insert a standard RJ-45 Ethernet cable (included) into the INTERNET port on the gateway and connect the other end to your broadband network termination device, such as a modem, router, GPON, or similar device.
  • Page 32 Note: To prevent an invalid connection to the circuit switched Telco network, do not connect an RJ-11 telephone cable from the PHONE 1 (or PHONE 2) port on the TES301 to the wall jack. (Optional) You can connect the PHONE 2 port to a second analog telephone or a fax machine.

The power LED on the front panel will light up as soon as the device powers on. The LCD will light up with a message that the device is booting up.

The Internet Connection Type screen appears. The Status field indicates Connected or Disconnected based on your current configuration.

This method ensures that your gateway has a unique IP address within range of the subnet.

    Chapter 4 Configuring Advanced Settings MAC Address Clone MAC Cloning The gateway's MAC address is a 12-hexadecimal digit code assigned to a unique piece of hardware for identification. Your service provider may require that you register the MAC address of your network card/adapter, which was connected to your cable or DSL modem during installation.

    Chapter 4 Configuring Advanced Settings Basic Wireless Setup Field Description Basic Wi-Fi Setting at 2.4 GHz Band From this drop-down menu, you can select the wireless standards running on your network.  If you have both Wireless-B, Wireless-G and Wireless-N (2.4GHz) devices in your network, keep the default setting, Mixed.

Wireless devices will be able to AP Isolation communicate with the Gateway but not with each other. To use this function, select Enabled. AP Isolation is turned Disabled by default.
