Locate the drive motor cable (28) and cut any wire ties needed to free the cable
from the printer harness.

Loosen the three screws (195) which attach the motor (194) to the right endplate
(82). Slide the motor (194) toward the platen and remove the drive belt (89).
5.
Completely remove the three motor attachment screws (195) and the motor (194)
may be removed and set aside.
6.
Remove the motor pulley (78) from the old drive motor and install on the
replacement drive motor. Make sure that the set screw is tightened onto the flat
portion of the motor shaft.
7.
Loosely install the drive motor (194) on the right endplate (82) and slip the drive
belt (89) over the two pulleys. Make sure that the belt teeth properly engage the
pulleys.
8.
Adjust the drive belt tension as shown in Figure 4.13. Tighten motor hardware
securely.
9.
Check the belt for proper tracking. It may be necessary to loosen one or both
pulleys and align them so that the belt tracks parallel to the endplate. Tighten the
set screws in both pulleys securely.

If the paper advance drive belt becomes cut or otherwise damaged or signs of fatigue such
as cracking, fraying or missing teeth, it should be replaced. The procedure is as follows:
1.
Remove top cover (see Paragraph 4.5.1).
2.
Remove the electronics chassis from the print mechanism (see Paragraph 4.5.4).
3.
Loosen the three drive motor attachment screws (195).
4.
Slide the drive motor (194) forward toward the platen until the drive belt (8@ can
be removed. Discard the defective belt.
5.
Slip the replacement belt (89) onto the pulleys (90,78).
6.
Adjust the drive belt tension as shown in Figure 4.13. Tighten motor hardware
securely.
