Operation
WARNING:
Danger of injury! A damaged appliance must never be used. Always check the appliance and its AC adapter
for damages before using it.
WARNING:
Danger of squeezing! Be careful that you don't squeeze your hands when turning the handle into the upright
position (fig. 8, Fig. 13).
ATTENTION:
Only use the appliance with all filters intact, in dry condition and correctly fitted. Make sure that no openings
are clogged.
ATTENTION:
Do not overheat the appliance. Switch it off after no more than 10 minutes and let it cool off to room
temperature.
4.2 Using the appliance as an upright
ATTENTION:
Never use the upright vacuum cleaner with its rotating brush for delicate surfaces. These might suffer
scratches. Also observe the flooring manufacturer's recommendations. Do not vacuum-clean near cables,
long rug fringes, curtains or draperies. These might be pulled in, block the rotating brush and thus damage
the motor.
1. If not already done, take the appliance off its charging station.
2. If not already done, turn the handle into the upright position (fig. 8) until you hear and feel it lock into place.
3. Switch on the appliance by pushing the on/off switch on the upright handle downwards (fig. 9). The
operating indicator lights up until you switch off the appliance again.
To switch off the appliance simply push the on/off switch on the upright cleaner's handle upwards (fig. 9).
4. Empty the dust container after use, ZChapter 5.1, "Emptying and cleaning the dust container".
4.3 Using the appliance as a handheld
1. Uncouple the handheld by pushing the release catch on the upright cleaner's receptacle (fig. 10)..
2. First pull the handheld slightly forwards and then upwards out of its receptacle.
NOTE:
The crevice nozzle will automatically be partially extended. If you actually want to use the crevice nozzle,
extend it completely until its latch becomes visible on the underside of the handheld (fig. 11) and clicks into
place. If you do not want to use the crevice nozzle, push it all the way back into the handheld. Never operate
the appliance without the crevice nozzle, because the air will not be properly sucked in without it.
3. Switch on the appliance by pushing the on/off switch on the handheld vacuum cleaner downwards (fig. 12).
The operating indicator lights up until you switch off the appliance again. To switch off the appliance simply
push the on/off switch on the handheld cleaner upwards (fig. 12).
4. Check that the crevice nozzle is fitted so that it can slide in and out before putting the handheld back into
its receptacle. If this is not the case, unlock the crevice nozzle by pushing the release catch (fig. 11/A).
5. Empty the dust container after use, ZChapter 5.1, "Emptying and cleaning the dust container".
6. Push the handheld cleaner back into its receptacle after use. You must hear and feel the handheld's release
catch engaging.
4.4 Transport and storage
It is recommended to fold down the handle again for storage and transportation (fig. 13).
Now you can conveniently carry the appliance by the handheld's handle.
Always store the appliance in a cool, dry place and out of reach of children.
ATTENTION:
Never store the appliance next to heat sources (e.g. stoves or radiators). Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight.
Heat can damage the appliance. Store the appliance in such a way that it cannot start up by itself.
Before storing it for a prolonged time empty the dust container ZChapter 5, "Maintenance" and dispose of
its contents properly.
