OPERATION

(PUSH)
ON LINE switch (SW4): When pushed in, the
Printer will receive infonnation from the I/O
and process
il.
When out. the Printer will con-
tinue to receive infonnation only until the Hne
buffer is full. CfL-S will be sent and hardware
handshaking will indicate busy when nearing
"buffer full," just as when "on line." The other
manual switches are operative only in this "off
line" condition. NarE: A line that is being
printed when taken "off line" will be
com~
pleted. Any remaining characters will be held in
the line buffer until the Printer is put back "on
line" again.
Push "offline" and then back "on line" torestart
after paper jamming or running out of paper.
POWER indicator (LEDt): Lights when AC
power is turned on.
HIGH TEMP LIGHT (LED2): Lights when
maximum print head temperature is reached
and printing will stop. It is nonnal for ihis LED
to flicker when printing is being done.

2. Feed the form to the desired length
using the FEED switches.
This switch is operative only when "offline." It
is necessary to reset the form parameters
whenever power is intel'fupted.
FEED REVerse switch (SW7): Pull lightly on the
paper to prevent )emming. Operation is the
sam·e as FEED FWD except for the direction of
food.
TOP FORM switch {SWS}: When power is
turned on, "top of the form" is initialized. The
Printer assumes that the paper is positioned at
the top of the next form. Use the FEED switches
and advance the form to the desired position for
the top of the fonn. Pressing and releasing the
switch will cause the paperto advance tothe top
of the next form. {Upon power up. the form
depth is set to 11 inches.) To modify the form
depth:
1. Press in and hold this switch.
fEED FWD (forward) switch ISW6]: Momentar.
ily depressing this switch causes the paper to
advance approximately .02 inches and stop.
Holding the switch down causes the paper to
advance to the next line. Further holding of the
switch will cause the paper to advance one full
line at a time.
3. Release the TOP FORM switch.
WIDE CHARacter switch (SW5): When pushed
"in," approximately 10 charecters per inch are
printed (maximum of SO characters per line).
When "out," approximately 16.5 characters per
inch are printed (maximum of 132 characters
per line). The above is true on power up. Addi.
tionally, either side of the switch may be serially
programmed to SO, 96, or 132 characters.
Character pitch will not change during the
·printing of a line.
