Key
Description
Space: Tap to insert a space.
keyboard's language. Touch and hold to bring up the Languages screen
to select another language.
Enter: Tap to confirm your entry or move to a new line.
Shift: Tap to toggle among lower case, upper case, or caps lock.
Text Mode
ABC mode is primarily used for entering letters while Number & Symbol mode is for numbers
and symbols.

to select ABC mode. Tap
In ABC mode, tap
(Unshifted) to enter all letters in lowercase.
(One-character-shifted) to capitalize only the first letter of a word.
(Caps lock) to enter all letters in uppercase.
The Number & Symbol keyboard is in two layers. Tap
Some keys have alternate characters. If a key displays an extra character on the
upper right corner, touch and hold the key to enter the character. Or, touch and long
hold a key to call up a list of all the characters available on that key, and slide your
finger to the character you want to enter on the list.
Swype User Dictionary
To add a word to your Swype dictionary:
1. Enter a word on the Swype keyboard by tapping each letter without sliding your finger.
2. Tap

again.
4. Tap Add "xxx" to dictionary.
Phone Basics
