5.5 iPod TROUBLESHOOTING

Symptom
The STANDBY/ON and iPod
LEDs on the main unit flash.
(An error message is displayed.)
No audio from the iPod is output,

although no error indication is
displayed.
(Audio from other input sources
can be output normally.)
The iPod cannot be controlled
with the remote control unit of
the main unit, although no error
indication is displayed.

Cause
iPod excess current error
(On the XW-NAC3, "OC Error" is displayed.)
Communication error with an iPod
(On the XW-NAC3, "Communication Error"
is displayed.)
An unsupported iPod model is connected,
or the version of the software for the
connected iPod is older and unsupported.
(On the XW-NAC3, "Noncompliant Error"
is displayed.)
Improper connection
Communication failure between the System
Ucom (IC1000) and Sub Ucom (IC3000)
Failure in the analog audio line
Improper connection
Communication failure between the System
Ucom (IC1000) and Sub Ucom (IC3000)
The iPod/iPhone is frozen.

Corrective Action
If the LEDs start flashing immediately after an iPod is connected, there may be
excess current flow.
See "5.6 ERROR INDICATIONS AND PROTECTION CIRCUITS."
Disconnect the iPod from this unit. Then after making sure that the Main menu
for the iPod is displayed, reconnect the iPod firmly.
If the iPod remains inoperable, reset the iPod.
Check that the connected iPod/iPhone is supported.
Audio may be output even after this error is generated.
Disconnect the iPod from this unit then reconnect the iPod properly.
If the version for the Sub Ucom (IC3000) is not displayed properly, a failure in the
communication line or the Sub Ucom (IC3000) is suspected.
A failure in the analog audio line between the iPod dock and the audio selector is
suspected.
Disconnect the iPod from this unit then reconnect the iPod properly.
If the version for the Sub Ucom (IC3000) is not displayed properly, a failure in the
communication line or the Sub Ucom (IC3000) is suspected.
Reset the iPod/iPhone, disconnect it, then reconnect it properly.
