J 33023-A Puller Pilot
J 34992 Compressor Holding Fixture
J 21352-A Support Block
1. Pulley (26) on J 21352-A (figure 12).
NOTICE: Do not support the rotor by resting the
pulley rim on a flat surface during bearing instal­
lation or the rotor face will be bent.
2. Pulley bearing (25) into the hub using J 29886, J
9481-A and J 21352-A (figure 12).
• J 33019 in the pulley bore (figure 12).
• Seat the pulley and bearing assembly on J
21352-A to support to the hub under the staking
pin location (figure 13).
• Strike the staking pin with a hammer until a
metal stake, similar to the original, is formed
down to, but not touching the bearing.
— Position the stake pin after striking.
— The staked metal should not contact the
outer race of the bearing to prevent the
possibility of bending the outer race.
— Stake 3 places 120 degrees apart (figure
14).
3. Pulley (26) on the front head.
• Position J 33017 and J 33023-A over the inner
race of the bearing (figure 15).
• Position J 8433 on J 33023 and assemble the
through bolts and washers through the puller
bar slots and thread them into J 34992 (figure
15).

— The thread of the through bolts should
engage the full thickness of the compres­
sor holding fixture.
• Tighten the center screw in J 8433 to force the
pulley and bearing assembly onto the compres­
sor front head (33).
— If J 33017 becomes misaligned with the
inner race of the bearing, back off J 8433
and relocate center, then continue instal­
lation.
4. Pulley bearing retainer (24) using J 6083 (figure 8).
5. Clutch plate and hub assembly (22).
