2. Pinion gears (56).
• Position one pinion gear (56) between the side
gears and rotate the gears until the pinion gear
is directly opposite the opening in the case.
• Place the other pinion gear (56) between the
side gears, making sure the hole in both pinion
gears line up.
3. Thrust washers (55).
• Rotate the pinion gears toward the opening just

Tool Required:
1. Bearing cup (41) into the case using J 33837-1,

Tools Required:
1. Pinion depth is adjusted by selecting a shim (38)
2. Lubricate the inner and outer pinion bearings lib­
3. Hold the pinion bearings in position and install
4. Tighten the dial indicator in this position.
5. Set the button of J 33838 on the differential bear­
6. Rotate the tool slowly back and forth until the dial
7. After the ZERO setting is obtained and verified,
8. The dial indicator reading is equal to the required
